In September last year, former Xiaomi CC series product manager Wei Siqi officially launched the new Xiaomi phone to be known as the “Civi phone”, which replaced the “CC” series. The Xiaomi Civi is a mid-range phone but caught a lot of attention due to its gorgeous design, and is also said to be one of the best looking mobile phones in the history of Xiaomi. The phone adopts an extremely thin and light design. On the front side, it had a punch hole display while on the back it features a triple rear camera module.

The high evaluation also made Xiaomi in this design line. Therefore, in the design of Xiaomi Mi 12, Wei Siqi was completely responsible for the successful creation of the best-looking digital series flagship in Xiaomi’s history, which has been well-received since its launch. At present, Xiaomi Mi 12 has launched three models. The Xiaomi Mi 12X with the lowest configuration is equipped with Snapdragon 870, which is regarded as a sub-flagship product including Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. As per the previous plans for the Xiaomi digital series, there was also to be a Xiaomi Mi 12 Youth Edition model which would be a mid-range model with a Snapdragon 7-series processor.

There have been many rumours about the phone before, but recently it was denied by Xinxin Mia, the new product manager of Xiaomi Civi, saying that “there is no youth version”. Moreover, the product manager also responded to the Xiaomi Civi 2 mobile phone case disclosed by Digital Chat Station, confirming that it is not a Civi 2.
Recently a well-known and trusted Telegram channel Xiaomiui, which has high accuracy in terms of Xiaomi relative accessories, had shared Mi 12 Lite and it was also shared that Xiaomi may launch Civi series phones.
