ASUS announced that it will launch its folding display notebook in CES 2022. Asus’s folding laptop is called Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, which is a 17.3-inch OLED laptop. Its product form is similar to the previous ThinkPad X1 Fold, and it is also a design that the whole laptop has no keyboard and relies on a whole screen to expand.

In comparison with ThinkPad X1 Fold, the screen of Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is naturally much larger. When fully unfolded, it has a 17.3-inch, 4:3 ratio display with a resolution of 2560×1920. If half of the screen is used as the keyboard, then the display area is also 12.3 inches, and the ratio is a hugely productive 3:2. ASUS claims that this screen has a 1M:1 contrast ratio, supports 10bit color depth, is certified by Pantone, has a maximum brightness of 500nit, and supports DCI-P3 wide color gamut. Asus said that the screen and the internal hinge of the fuselage have been fold-unfolded 30,000 times and the life span is guaranteed.

ASUS will also match it with a wireless keyboard. The bracket can be used to support the entire 17-inch screen as a large-screen laptop, or as a substitute for the on-screen keyboard.

Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is equipped with a brand-new Intel Core i7-1250U processor, with a built-in 16GB LPDDR5 memory and 1TB PCIe 4 SSD. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports and one 3.5 mm audio port on the fuselage. One side of the screen is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera that supports infrared facial recognition Windows Hello authentication.

In addition to the above configuration, Zenbook 17 Fold OLED also has a 75Wh built-in battery, supports 65W power input, and supports Wi-Fi 6E. The weight of the whole machine reaches 1.65 kg. When folded, the thinnest part is 8.7 mm and the thickest part is 11.7 mm. The built-in speakers are tuned by Harman Kardon and support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. ASUS has not yet announced the price of this product.01:52 PM
